GUEST

Stephanie Byerly, M.D., is a Professor in the Department of Anesthesiology and Pain Management at UT Southwestern Medical Center and Director of Obstetrical Anesthesiology at William P. Clements Jr. University Hospital

Dr. Byerly is also a certified Mind Body Medicine Coach and a Certified Life Coach.

Between a challenging personal life as a single mom raising two daughters on her own and a challenging career, she rose up the ranks of academic medicine to become a Professor in her department. It came at a cost, however, as she suffered a major episode of burnout.

Recognizing that it was up to her to pull herself out, she explored various options and discovered the power of coaching.

It changed her life in so many unbelievable ways that she herself trained as a Life Coach.

“I found a way out of the burnout and I understood I had to find the peace, joy, and happiness I wanted in my life.” – Dr.  Byerly

In this episode we discuss how she overcame obstacles as a single mom with a demanding schedule and still climbed the leadership ladder and how her life pivoted with her episode of burnout.
